Step 11
Other information that is on the tag that is not essential to locating a motor match but still good to know are Volts, Amps, and Frame. Volts - Pool pumps normally have a setting of 115v, 230v or 115/230 dual voltage. Tip: Dual voltage motors are set to 230v from the factory so if you plan on using it for the lesser voltage is sure to switch this setting during installation or you may damage your motor. Amps - this is the power consumption of your motor, the higher the amps the higher the electric bill. Your specific pump may have an Energy Efficient motor available as a replacement. Check our Pump Motor section. Time - Pool pump motors are universally rated a CONT (continuous duty). Meaning they run constantly without needing to be shut off RPM - This stands for Revolutions Per Minute, single speed pumps run at 3450 rpm with dual speeds running at 3450 on high and 1725 on low.

I had my Century pool pump replaced in Aug 2021 its gone bad again Model B2983 Serial #36220CH would it still be covered under the Warranty?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 1/12/2023
Single-speed and dual-speed motors like the B2983 usually carry just a 12-Month warranty. Contact the trailer from who you bought the motor; they may be able to provide some leeway because you are only a few months outside of the warranty.Reply

I have a Century cat. BN37, part # 7-177782-03, serial #343083M pump motor. Is there a mfg. cross-reference part number for the motor governor assembly? The parts lists I have for this motor indicate the two speed governor (rotating switch) part number is 10007473, but i have not been able to locate a domestic vendor that supplies this item. Thanks in advance.Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 1/12/2021
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that part is available for purchase. None of our vendors have it listed or cross-referenced to a replacement part. I did a google search for that part number "10007473 governor." A few sites have a price listed, but it doesn't show if it is in stock. You may want to go down that results list and contact those companies.Reply

Thank you for your reply. I'll continue my search for a replacement part with the same form fit and function.Reply

Good luck. If you do find it, let us know so we can share it with commenters in the future.Reply

Can I replace a century centurion cat # B855 pump motor with a cat # B2855?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 1/5/2021
Yes, the B855 can be replaced by the B2855 and vice versa. They are essentially the exact same motor; I believe, the 2 in the latter model number denotes that the shaft has inner and outer threads for an impeller to screw onto.Reply

My Century Lasar Pool/Spa Motor Serial # is 01918J2. What is my date of manufacture?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 4/6/2020
Unfortunately, only the manufacturer would be able to identify the date of manufacture of the motor.Reply

I manage to get it together without the bolts! But I now need a new capacitor my B2853 centuryReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 3/24/2020
The capacitor replacement for the B2853 is the Run Capacitor, 30 MFD (5VR0303) (2444)Reply

I need replacement bolts for my B2853 century motor, does your company have any in stock?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 3/23/2020
What bolts are you referring to? Something like 10-inch thru-bolts? Or the four bolts that connect the motor to the pump. For the latter, we would need to know the model number of the pump housing.Reply

The image link shows one hot line should be attached to L1 and L2.Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 12/18/2019
If you would like a wiring diagram for the specific motor, we would need to identify that specific motor. What is the part, catalog, or model number from the motor label? See the above guide for examples.Reply

SP20111NCD 303669 part numberReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 3/9/2020
Neither of those numbers bring back a result. Are you sure, those are the Catalog, Part, or Model number and not part of the serial?Reply

I am trying to determine manufature date of a century B129 pump motor. The serial # is24415CHReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F. Posted: 12/4/2019
As of August 2006 Regal a.k.a. Century motors began stating the day of the year(in your case 244th day) followed by the last two digits of the year(in your case 2015) With that said your motor manufacturer date was September 1st of 2015.Reply

Hello, I am trying to identify a replacement for a pump in my hot tube. It is a Century Lasar Pool/Spa Motor, NO Cat #, Part # 7-187554-01, Serial 104103M, Type CXSM Fr Y48Y, RPM 3450/1725, Volts 230, Amps 12.0/3.5, Time CONT, Encl DP, Form PHM, Code D, Any help would be great from a replacement pump. Thanks in advanceReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 11/7/2019
You should verify if you copied down that part number correctly. The part number 7-187554-01 does not cross-reference to any motor in our database or catalogs.Reply
Roy Posted: 11/7/2019
Do you have an email so I may send you a picture of the label from the side of the pump?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 11/8/2019
You may email us at upload@inyopools.comReply

I’m trying to replace my old motor. On the HP and SF reading I have dashes. But then next to the label I have a smaller label that reads HPReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 7/16/2019
The important info needed to match a motor is the part, catalog, or model number. Can you see that info on the motor label?Reply
James R Clover Posted: 7/11/2019
I am being given a Century part No. C48D48701 with a 1HP. Is this a valid number? Thanks!Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 7/11/2019
That number does not cross-reference to a part.Reply

Hi, I have a MagneTek Century Pool and Spa Duty pump...PART = 165124 - 40....HP = 2....TYPE = CS....VOLTS = 220-240....AMPS = 9.7....HZ = 5....RPM = 2850....SF = 1.0....TIME = CONT....CODE = F....FR = N56J....FORM = KJM....INSUL CLASS = B. What is the performance curve or the flow vs head curve like ?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 7/2/2019
Motors do not have a head rating, only the pump housings do. The same goes for the performance curve. It is matched to the pump and not to a motor.Reply
Shannon Posted: 6/28/2019
Is a C frame and J frame the same?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 7/2/2019
Yes, they are both round flanges.Reply

I have a Speck Pool pump with a Century AO Smoth motor. the is no CAT# but the PART # is 7-193005-01. TYPE = CS, FR = W48Y, 1.5 HP , SF = 1.0, 230/115 volts, 8.0/16.0 amps. I need a replacement motor. Can someone guide me to the right part?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 5/13/2019
Using the method shown in step 3, Inyo's parts search brings up the B854 - 1.5 HP Square Flange 56Y Up Rate Motor as the replacement motor.Reply

I have a Nordic Impulse hot tub with this spa motor.. PART 7-177781-02 TYPE SPM FR R48Y. How do i know if it has a circulation pump with it TYReply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 4/8/2019
I'm a little confused by the question. The motor is a part of the pump, so if there is a motor there is a pump.Reply
Kelly Posted: 4/8/2019
Well...i read where not all spas have a circulation pump but just a 2 speed pump without circulation. When programming the Low Level configuration...level 1 is without circulation etc. 1 pump and 2 speed. What i can't determine is if mine does indeed have circulation so i choose correct configurationReply
