During normal operation a white calcium scale will build up on the plates of the electrolytic cell within your jandy aquapure ei salt generator. The cell operates most efficiently when the cell is clean so the manufacturer recommends checking your cell for scale monthly and cleaning the cell as required. This guide describes how to access and clean a Jandy AquaPure Ei cell.

Can also soak the chlorine generator cell in white vinegar overnight and it is far less harsh on your equipment. Actually works in just a few hours.Reply

Kathy S - If you haven't had the ring off for a while, it may be corroded on. Squirt a little CLR over the nut and tap around the nut gently with the handle end of a screwdriver. Then use the locking ring tool to twist the not off counter-clockwise. If you don't have the locking ring tool, use a strap wrench.Reply
