This guide shows you how to connect a 240 VAC Variable-Speed Pump to a Intermatic Multiwave Pool/Spa Control System Model # PE653RC. See our guide on "How To Set Up the Intermatic PE653RC Pool-Spa Control System -Overview" for a basic understanding of how pool equipment is connected to the PE653DC Control System. Typically pool equipment, including a 1 or 2-speed pump, is connected to one of 5 control cuircits. However, a special connection is provided for a variable speed pump.

Matt - The VS pump isn't really using terminals 1 and 2. Those terminals are providing 220V power to the control system. The VS pump is getting its power directly from the breaker box and is being controlled through the RS485 communication cable between the pump and the top pf the control system. The VS pump is not using any of the 5 standard switching circuits in the control system so any of these are available for your other equipment. See "How To Set Up the Intermatic PE653RC Pool-Spa Control System -Overview" for instructions on setting up your other equipment.Reply

Ok this looks pretty easy, and I know that I can probably figure it out, but here is what I am setting up on a spa only: 240 v Intelliflo VS pump, 120 v lights, 120 v blower, heater (pentair MasterTemp 125 wich I am going to set up for 120 v). There aren't any specific instructions in the manual on setting up any other equipment on the MultiWave when you are using a variable speed pump, and it is a little different than a regular 1 speed 240v pump since you are using terminals 1 and 2 for the pump on a variable speed, so I could really use a little help.Reply
