I noticed from the picture you're using Teflon based, not silicone as the description of the picture. Does that matter? What kind of grease should I use? Is this one good enough? where do i get the grease fitting?Reply

Do you know the model number of your valve? It should be on the lid or handle of the valve itself.Reply

Hello Deb - If the grease cap is dry, then re-apply new grease. You may also want to try to open the valve to determine if the internals are broken or blocked.Reply

This was very helpful, accurate and to the point. Great job on this! Thank you!Reply

I’m not sure if I need to lubricate the valve. I cannot turn the handle on the valve (the gray Jandy Jenny Valve). It looks as if two of the prongs may be stripped. Either way my skimmers are not turning on. The main drain is separate.Reply

Jo - I don't know if there is a universal grease fitting knob that would fit your diverter valve. If you have a Jandy diverter valve, here is the parts list for that valve, Jandy Standard & Never Lube Valve Parts. See Key #8. You might also consider replacing the inner valve assembly with a Neverlube assembly (Key #10) so you can eliminate the need for lubricating the valve. See our guide on "How To Repair a Diverter Valve".Reply

I have a Hayward pump and the grease fitting knob has broken off, are these universal? I cannot find the knob to purchase in the parts section.Reply

Fantastic. Was freaking out that I had really damaged the valve. Thank you for posting this info.Reply
