Does the CC200 Pentair Cartridge Filter come with one cartridge installed? Also, do you have separate in line filters (before pump) with 2 inch connections?

Hello Hans - The CC200 does come with a cartridge. We do not have an inline (pre pump) filter with 2" connections

I AM PLANNING TO PURCHASE THE LARGEST AVAILABLE PENTAIR CC FILTER.
I WAS OFFERED A 320 SQFT UNIT SINCE I HAVE A POOL WITH ABOUT 42,000 GALLONS. DOES SUCH A UNIT EXIST OR CAN YOU GET IT?. OTHERWISE WE STAY WITH THE 200 SQFT UNIT. IT SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT??

Hans - The CC200 can handle 42,000 gallons. There is a Clean and Clear Plus 320. The benefit of the 320 is that it would not have to cleaned out as often.

I have a 29,100 gallon pool, should I go with the 150 or 200 sq ft cartridge filter? Thanx

Hi Steve, If your pocket book can handle it I would always suggest going larger on the filter as the filter will have more cleaning capacity and there will be longer time between cleaning the cartridge.

Do filters and pumps go together size wise, or can you use the same pump with different filters. I have a small pool, I think it is 12,500 gallons but it has the CC 200 filter on it. So basically I'm asking if I can downsize the filter without the pump damaging it? Or do I just buy the same size filter unit even though its completely over-sized.
Reply
Hi, The filter is sized to meet or exceed the flow rate of the pump. If you down size the filter but the pump flow rate exceed the flow rate of the filter it can create back pressure. Your filter would have to be cleaned and replaced often, your pool would not be effectively filtered which can lead to other problems. It is better to over-sized the filter rather than under-sizing it.

is the only difference between the pentair 160318 and 160317 the filter inside? It appears the whole filter assembly is the same but with a 200 filter in the 160318 and a 150 in the 160317. Can you confirm that?

Correct the filter will be larger on the 200 but they are going to be the same Dimensions

On the dimension drawing a diameter of 15.5 inches is shown below and outside the mounting base. Is this the base diameter or outside diameter of the clamp ring, a big difference? I have a clearance problem and need to know which is the 15.5.
Thank you

Hi Charles, The 15.5" diameter is the base diameter not including the ring. The diameter is 17" including the ring.

Have a older Pentair clean and clear pool filter system, the cartridge filter for the unit is model is CC200. I need a new O-ring for the head however I can't find a model number for the unit. There is a P/N 178555 REV E listed on the side of the cover. In addition, I need the air sock that goes with it. Any idea where to find this stuff?

Hi. The Tank Body O-ring - 87300400, Air Bleed Sock Kit - 59016200, and all other replacements are can be found using the Pentair Clean & Clear Diagram page.

I have an 18,000 gallon pool. What would be the correct size cartrige filter. I am using a 1.5 hp pump with my existing DE filter. Thank you in advance.

Hi Kim, a rule of thumb is to base your new cartridge filter off of the gallons per minute rating that your current D.E.filter has. As long as you meet that rating in the new filter then you are okay. Here is a guide we put together called "How To Size a Pool Filter" that may also assist.

I have almost 28,000 gallon pool with GPm of 57
Would this be a good filter ..
What pump would be a good one variable speed for this filter as well
Thanks

Hello, this filter is a fair match for your size swimming pool. In order to size a swimming pool pump, there are a number of variables to consider. Here is a guide that we put together called "How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool" that should assist with that.

What is difference between the EC-160318 and EC-160353? Both are Pentair Clean and Clear 200 Sq/ft cartridge filters.
Reply
Hello Robert. The Clean & Clear 200 Sq/ft Cartridge Filter - EC-160318 has the inlet and discharge ports located at the bottom of the filter tank. The Clean & Clear RP 200 Cartridge Filter - EC-160353 inlet port is located approx the midpoint of the filter housing and the discharge port is located at the bottom of the filter housing. The RP 200 EC-163353 is the newer version of the Clean & Clear 200 sq ft filter series. The midpoint intake position provides greater filter efficiency.
