How many hours per day should I run my pump?

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Good afternoon, you would need to order the Hayward MaxFlo XL Pump 1 HP Dual Speed EE 230V (Energy Star Certified) - SP2307X102 or we would also recommend the Waterway Power Defender 140 Variable Speed Pool Pump 1.4 HP 115V/230V - PD-140.

Will this pump replace a Hayward model SP3207X10
 Reply

The W3SP2307X10 will not have the same GPM output as the SP3207X10. If you want something that will have the same output, there are two options. You could replace the motor and seals. The replacement motor for the SP3207X10 is model B2853 and the seal kit is GOKIT80SALT. A complete pump option with the same output would be the Hayward Tri-Star model W3SP3210X15XE.
