The manual says that a diverter valve can be installed for vacuuming to waste during heavy spring clean up or pulling rain water out of the pool. Where would it be installed? Do you sell this valve?

Yes we do carry this diverter valve which you may view or purchase through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352023400.htm This valve has 3 ports on it, the valve would screw into the disharge side of your pump and you can have the handle turned so the return water goes through your filter or you can turn the valve in the opposite direction so the dirty water goes to waste and bypasses your filter, this is very helpful when vacuuming or for heavy spring clean up.

Is there a difference between the EC50C filter and the EC50AC.I want the EC50AC (AC) filter with the 1.5 HP matrix pump.

Hi Tara, There is no difference between the The EC50C and EC50AC. The Hayward EC50C Perflex Filter w/ 1.5 HP Matrix Pump (EC50C93S) does come with the EC50AC Filter.

I have a 30' x 52" above ground pool. Will the Hayward EC50C Perflex Filter w/1.5 HP Matrix Pump be sufficient???

Yes, the Hayward EC50C Perflex Filter w/ 1.5 HP Matrix Pump is a sufficient fit for your pool size. The turn over rate for this filtration system is 24,000 gallons of water in 8-hours and 36,000 gallons in 12-hours. (Your pool holds approximately 18,000 gallons of water)

I have a 21x41 oval doughboy pool that is 52 inches deep. 2 years old. Came with a Hayward sand filter and 1.5hp pump. we have to floc every few weeks due to trees, polling and airborne dust. We live in the country and have trees by the pool.
Would this DE filter be a better use for us for cleaning and will it do our size pool? I would replace sand filter but leave the pump as is.

Hi Jerry, yes I think the EC50C DE Filter would be a great option for you. I have a friend who was having the same issues and he replaced his cartridge filter with a DE Filter and he said it has been the best thing he as done for his pool. Here is the EC50C DE Filter also if you really want to bump up the filter size you could go with something like the EC75A DE Filter which is quite a bit more expensive but this is a really large filter meaning it can filter more debris and you will have longer times between cleaning the filter.

I have an 18' by 52" round above ground pool. Do I need the EC50 and a 1.5 hp pump or would the EC40 with a 1 hp be enough? Thanks.

Hi, Murray. The EC40C92SFT will be preferred skid for your size pool.

Can I use a 1.5 HP Hayward matrix pump with an Ec40 tank system?
Reply
Hi, Dolly. I would not recommend that you do, a 1.5 HP Matrix Pump is a bit too powerful for an EC40 filter. It will reduce the filter ability to work effectively.

Hi, Bill. This system is not overkilled for a pool of your size.

In process of opening 18 x 33 pool.Bump handle is very rigid. After I shut pump off to bump,it takes about a minute or so to get handle moving freely again.Hardly any pressure returning to pool.Any suggestions or remedies? Thanks

PK I would try lubricating the bump. If that does not work I suggest contacting Hayward directly and speaking to their technicians. They might have a trick up their sleeve. Hayward can be reached at 800.429.9273.

I have a 15' x 30' x 52" high oval pool. Would this be a good system for my pool or would it be too much/powerful?
Reply
Anthony, for your 15' x 30' x 52" oval pool I would suggest the Hayward EC50C Perflex Filter w/ 1 HP Matrix Pump - EC50C92S over the Hayward Pool Products Hayward EC50C Perflex Filter w/ 1.5 HP Matrix Pump. The 1.5HP will be a little too powerful for you.

Will this pump be the correct size for an 18 x 33 x 52 pool. The pump is roughly 20 ft away from pool. Is it also compatible with a timer? Is it 1 or 2 speed?
