I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

Is this OK for the chlorinator lid o-ring, or should I stick with silicone? Thanks.

Hi Bill, this teflon based lubricant would be perfectly fine for your chlorinator lid o-ring.

I just placed an order for some O-rings and forgot the lube would it be possible to add a tube of Magic lube to the order #673751?

Doug, you would have to purchase the lube separately, or you can buy it locally at a hardware store.

I plan to use this Magic Lube #630 on my Polyurethane bushings on my truck but I cannot find information anywhere that would tell me that this lube is safe with polyurethanes. I've even looked on safety data sheets (even here) and all it says it that it is safe with MOST rubbers. Can anyone tell me if this Magic Lube #630 is safe to use on Polyurethane bushings? If so, can you please let me know where to look up this info so I can see it firsthand? That would be most appreciated! Thanks

Hi, Mikegyver. Unfortunately, I was not able to find any info confirming that the Magic Lube lubricant can be used on polyurethane bushing. You may want to contact Aladdin at 1.800.854.2466.

I used Magic Lube on the 2" od heater split nut and heater union gasket for my hot tub spa. Is there a wait time for the magic lube to dry or bond before adding water to the hot tub?

Hi, Dale. There is no wait time for this product.

Hi Stanley, Yes we would suggest this lubricant and you would apply directly to the light gasket.

I am replacing my super pump motor due to a salt water leak that destroyed the pump some of which was from another leak above the pump (my bad) the other seemed to come from the old pump seals. I plan on using magic lube with the new motor and new seals and also for the new seals on my boster pump. this is ok as long as i DO NOT lube the graphic portion of the motor seals is that correct. Also will this lube prevent any leaking past the seat of the seals? Any suggestions will be most helpful.

Mark, While you can apply the lubricant the gaskets and o-rings, I do not recommend placing any lubricant near the shaft seal. The lubricant will not necessarily prevent leaks but it will help to keep the gaskets in good condition so that they don't fail prematurely.
