this kit provides 10 straps, 10 plastic screws, 10 screws and 10 fasteners, but since you need a fastener on each end of the strap shouldn't there be 20 fasteners or are the 5 additional straps and screws just extras?

Hi. It does include 20 Fastener, 10 Straps, 10 Screws, and 10 Clips.

only one end uses the clips, each clip is 2 parts that snap together, the other end of strap is screwed to the reel.

Pros: Easy to put on
Cons: Straps are not long enough with the reel we have
Arrived in a timely manner, however the straps are too short so the cover does not lay flat in the water.

Great replacement kit for our old spool. Hooked on easily to new solar blanket and made reeling up very easy.
