I have a SP2607C impeller and a SP 3005R impeller ring. The ring does not fit over the impeller. What is the correct part for the impeller ring?

Hi, Doug. The Hayward SP2607C impeller does not require an impeller ring. If you can provide the model number of your pump I can verify if you have the correct parts.

Hello Joe, your impeller ring is going to go on your impeller before it goes into the diffuser. There are how to's on our website under Pool pumps on how to clean and replace.

My Hayward RS1000 pump developed a leak so I am replacing the shaft seal assembly and the housing gasket. Upon disassembly, I found some wear between the impeller and the impeller ring. Is this a concern and should these items be replaced as well? What are the liabilities of not replacing the impeller and impeller ring? Thanks

Hello Gary, any wear and tear you see on your impeller and ring this could cause leaks and or break apart during your pump running, which could cause more damage.

Should there be an impeller ring between a sp3010-c impeller and a sp3000-bn diffuser on a Hayward super 2 ?

I'm putting together an order to rebuild a Hayward Super II pool pump and have been talking to Lenox who was going to get me info on the impeller ring. Upon further investigation, the old ring has a sharp edge worn into it which mirrors an edge on the impeller housing. Does this mean the entire housing should be replaced? What is comparative cost of rebuild vs. purchasing a new pump?

Hi Joseph, When you say impeller housing are you speaking of item #6 (diffuser) on this Hayward Super II Parts Break Down if yes then you would need to replace your diffuser ($29) and not your pump housing. Based on the parts Lennox quoted and this diffuser the cost of a rebuild is $122.44 if you did determine you need the Super II Pump Housing ($221) the rebuild price would be $343.44 compared to $549 for a Complete 1.5 HP Hayward Super II Pump. If you go the complete pump route then you might consider the PureLine Prime 1.5 HP Pump at $379 this has been a great pump for us. The ports on the PureLine Prime are not in the exact location as the Hayward Super II so you would have some minor re-plumbing but nothing major.

Very very happy that I was able to replace this old motor but all the print had faded off and I wasn't sure how many HP the pump had made it difficult to order a new one to ensure it would match up with my pump. Ive been trying to figure this out for quite some time. I learned from Inyo Pools that you can take the motor off and look at the impeller PN# and reverse engineer by researching the impeller PN# to see what HP it was designed for. Once I found out the HP I immediately ordered the Century energy efficient model, a "Go Kit" seal kit and new impeller ring and flange. Before I took the motor off the pump I shocked the pool and let it run for several hours, then turned off the 220 circuit breaker and removed the pump, took pictures of the timer wiring with my phone. Worked on breaking down the motor by removing the impeller and old seal and set the motor aside until the new one arrived. Box arrived in very good condition with the other parts inside, everything was in very good condition upon arrival and .... shipping was free! I took the electrical whip off the old motor and wired it to the new motor, took the pump parts off the old motor, cleaned them up, and installed them on the new motor. Inyo pools sent videos from their knowledge base and I watched the videos on how to install the Go-Kit seals, flange and impeller ring, and everything went accordingly and fit perfect. I installed the new Impeller ring and Round Flange per InyoPools video. After the motor was ready, I brought it the pump and installed the new round seal after lubricating it with the lube provided with the Go-Kit. Motor slid right in, bolted up perfect, I then re-attached the wiring whip to the timer, turned the circuit breakers on and the moment of truth was upon me. I flipped the switch to "on" and the pump came to life making very little sound or noise and fired right up! the pump is very quiet and energy efficient and I am very satisfied and proud of replacing the motor and seals myself and saving a lot of $$$. Another perfect DIY job!
