What is Service Factor?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/11/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Hi Rob, The 1.5 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B977T, B2977T) would be the replacement dual speed motor for p/n 7-193633-24.

I have this motor, however I have a crack somewhere in the Hayward pump but I am unable to find a model number to replace the part. Can you tell me which Hayward pump this motor would sit in? Also since I have this motor is there a better more efficient motor I could replace it with?

Hi Shannon, We can not identify the pump model off of the motor. If you can send us photos of the pump housing we can identify it that way.

I have this motor and the impeller brok off at the end of the stem. How do I find the right impeller to replace the impeller?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/21/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Peter there should be a part # embossed into the impeller, if you can find this then just enter the part # into our search box and the impeller should come up. You can also email us a photo of your pump and motor label and that will allow us to determine which impeller you require.

Our motor was damaged after a freeze

Written on 3/17/2021 by Guest

We disconnected the old motor and replaced all of the gaskets and pieces from the tune up kit (purchased separately). We also had to purchase new yellow wire tips to connect the electrical to the new motor- taking care to match the connections and voltage setting from the old one. It took us a while, some brute force on the bolts that connect the motor to the seal plate, and some youtube videos, but we got it up and running on the first try.

Pump motor replaced

Written on 3/16/2020 by Guest

My pool pump motor suddenly stopped working. I flipped the breaker and turned on motor and smoke came out of the pump. I came to inyopools.com and found the best price on a Century B129 motor. The price was fair, shipping was free and within 3 days the pool pump was running again.

Replaced Pool Pump Motor

Written on 8/31/2019 by Rob T.

Turned off electric power, disconnected pool pump from pump motor, removed difuser, removed motor seal, replaced motor seal, reassembled difuser and other components, replaced some seals and a pool pumps assembly gasket, and a gasket inside the pool pump body. Instructions unclear about which seals and gaskets were to be used to replace those in the Magnum Force Pump and motor. Would be helpful for at least minimal instructions or schematics as to where gasket and seals were to be placed.
