Starting my Hayward heater H200FDN runs briefly cuts off shows code HS makes an awful noise in cutting off. Could this be heat exchanger?

Hi William, According to the Hayward H-series LoNox Installation Guide the error code "HS" can indicate a "Water Temperature Sensing Error." You can follow the troubleshooting step to see if that resolves your issue.

I just installed a new heat exchanger i bought from you. The heater will come on for a couple of seconds and then shut off. I'm not sure if I connected the wires properly. Do you have a wiring diagram that will help me ?

Hi Charley, The wiring diagram can be found in the Hayward H Series Electronic ED2 Manual. If you do not have the ED2 unit you may have to contact Hayward for assistance because I was not able to find an ED1 manual.

Hayward does a good job putting together a replacement package. It's not cheap, but it's less than half the cost of an all new heater.

When I opened my swimming pool this season, just 5 days before Memorial day, my heater was not working. After searching the internet and making calls to various local suppliers, INYO Pools was not only within the lower price range but they were able to get the heat exchanger here over night!!!! (without charging an unreasonable shipping fee) The Heat exchanger worked wonderfully...the pool was heated in a matter of hours after it was installed. I have had it for several weeks and still no problems!
