I have a pentair warrior DE filter and my pool guy suggested that I convert the existing system to a cartridge filter, due to the fact that my grid pack is congested from years of wear and tear and it would likely be a little more budget friendly. I have the 66 GPM currenty. Would this be the correct size center core for the housing I have in place with the existing DE filter?

Hi John, The Pentair Warrior 66 would be equivalent to the Pentair Clean & Clear 100 based on the information I gathered from Pentair's website. You would need the C&C 100 Center Core (59053700) and Pentair Clean & Clear 100 Sq Ft OEM Cartridge. However I would confirm with Pentair Tech Support at 1.800.831.7133 to confirm.

the small fabric strainer on top is missing. will it stiil filter properly

I would highly recommend replacing the Air Bleed Sock Kit (59016200) for optimum filtration efficiency. Dirty water will pass through this opening and bypass the filter.

how do you remove center core and replace with a new one thanks

The Center Core slides down while you pull in the opposite direction on the filter cartridge. To replace the core, you will need to insert the new core into the center of the cartridge and pull the cartridge down to the base of the core.

My core is lose it looks like at the bottom there are a set of fingers that the top are broken off that face up on the base of the filter do I need to replace the base or the core to correct the problem or should I just replace the whole filter

Hi Glenn, This would mean a new lower housing and at that point it is more economical to get a completely new filter. Here is the Clean & Clear 75 Filter you will need, this includes a cartridge. The nice thing is you can keep your old filter for spare parts.
