What are the port measurements (from the ground) for the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus cartridge filter?

The measurements for the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus cartridge filter are as follows: top port is 15.5" on center from the ground and the bottom port is 8" on center from the ground.

After 4 years, the top half of the housing on my filter has fine fiberglass hairs sticking out of the composite material. I presume this is from breakdown of the outer portion of the composite, due to exposure to the Sun. This makes the housing impossible to handle without getting the glass fibers stuck in your hands. Is there a recommended paint I can use on the exterior to protect it from further breakdown? Possibly Krylon Fusion, since it is made for use on plastics?

Eric O., I would recommend visiting your local paint store for recommendations on what type of paint to use if that's the direction you want to go, since we do not carry that type of paint.

The filter came complete with fitting, gauge and cartridges. Its easy to clean out cartridge and to drain the unit.

The filter is great but I would have to assume that you also need a good pump to go along with it. I had to replace both and ended up going with a 2hp Hayward super pump. My pump hadn't ran for a week prior while I was waiting on the new pump and once i installed it the pool was cleared up in less than a day! The real winner was the customer service - when I received the filter the piece that goes inside on the top of the cartridge filters to hold them in place was broken on arrival so I contacted a few days later. I sent them pictures on a Wednesday and I had the new replacement piece delivered today (Saturday). Not only did they have the best price on the interwebs, the service was great too!!!

The Clear Plus got great capacity and really filters very fine particles. While my old filter produced clear water the Clear Plus showed visible improvement, much better sparkling water.

Pros: Nice housing with intrigal base
Cons: Air blead stem on top seems a little weak
After 17 years in the sun my old filter housing wouldn't seal so I upgraded to the 420. The tank half seal is an O ring in a pair of reinforced groves that should be stronger than my old tank that had flats against a wedge shaped seal. The inlet is the upper connection so I had to replumb both connections. Mine was missing the O ring on the drain plug so it put out a nice spray when first pressurized. Had to hunt one down on a Sunday to stop the leak. Once I installed the O ring, there were no other leaks, even when run up to 35 psi when deverted to my spa jets. The four cartriges are huge. The website stated curbside drop off but the delivery driver actually carted it into my garage.
