I'm trying to make sure that the ECS3115 fan motor is the correct replacement for the failed motor in my Aqua cal, Tropical series, model T115B-A heat pump, installed in March, 2003. If this is the correct replacement I will proceed to purchase from you.

I have a heat pump that was manufactured by AqualCal and installed in early 2000. When you turn on the heat pump the fan does not move unless you give it a nudge. It continues to run until the automatic shutdown and then after the 5 minute delay that heat pump starts up again but the fan does not move unless you give it another nudge. Is this a sign that the fan motor has gone bad or could it be something else. Is this the correct replacement motor?

Good Afternoon Mr. Hannay, Hope you are doing well. This sounds more like an issue with a capacitor not starting the fan motor. The replacement part would be this ECS0044 Capacitor & INYO Pools can help with that order. If the fan needs replacement, the ECS3115 is the correct part Thanks Robert Brown AquaCal Tech Support

What safety precautions should I take in replacing this capacitor ECS0044?

Also on this heat pump, if I'm heating the pool or the spa and then decide to heat the other and flip the toggle switch the heat pump shuts down. Because the fan does not move unless I give it a nudge I've waited the 5 minute delay time but the heat pump did not restart and I can't just stand there until it does. Is there a longer delay when switching from pool to spa or vice versa?
