Optional Add-On Accessories

Salt Cell Cleaning Stand

This cleaning stand simplifies cell cleaning and eliminates having to soak the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid solution. This Cleaning stand is used for PureLine Crystal Pure salt cells. You should clean your salt cell every 2 months to avoid calcium build up on your salt cell. By cleaning your salt cell regularly you will prolong the life of the cell. Also if you get too much calcium build up on the salt cell then the system will stop producing chlorine, regular cleanings ensure that your salt system will not stop producing chlorine.

Salt Test Strips

Salt Test Strips are used to accurately measure the salt level in your pool. The Crystal Pure Salt System does measure and give salt readout levels on the power supply however it is nice to have salt test strips upon startup of your Salt System. During startup up you will use your test strips to make sure that you add the correct amount of salt to your pool, it is also good to be able to compare the salt readings on the power supply to those of the salt test strips to make sure the system is giving accurate salt readings.

Straight Pipe Place Holder - Dummy Cell

This straight pipe holder also called a dummy cell is used for several scenarios which we have listed below.

Winter: It is suggested that in areas of the country that you close your pool for the winter that you replace your normal cell with this dummy cell, the reason being is that the standard cell is expensive and by removing the standard cell you will prolong the cell's life.

Cell Cleaning: When you remove your normal cell for cleaning it is nice to have the dummy cell as you can replace the normal cell with the dummy cell so you continue to filter your pool while you clean your cell.

Spring Start-Up: The dummy cell is great to use during spring start up as quite often the pool can be quite dirty and you don't want large dirt and debris to get lodged in your standard salt cell.

Do I have to do anything differently with the other chemicals? Do I still need to adjust PH? What about stabilizer. Still required?

Hi Paul, You would maintain your pool the same as you would a traditional pool. We put together a Video on How to Maintain a Salt Pool which you should find helpful. Yes you still adjust the pH normally salt systems want to make your pH raise a little so you would be using a bit of muriatic acid to reduce pH. Yes stabilizer is still required to be maintained at normal levels.

Parts info indicates the 20,000 gal option is shown for data as adequate for a 21000.00 gal unit (mine) is that correct?

Hi Wendel, You could use the Crystal Pure PL7701 on a 21,000 gallon pool, but my suggestion would be to go up to the PL7100 40,000 Gallon Crystal Pure Salt System. By going with the larger system you will be generating more chlorine meaning that you can run the system for shorter periods of time resulting in longer time between needing to replace your salt cell. Also if for whatever reason you get an algae bloom the larger system can be dialed up to create a larger amount of chlorine. We put together a Video on Should I Go With a Larger Salt Chlorine Generator which you may find helpful.

Board on previous salt system went kaput

Written on 5/11/2018 by Guest

After checking the price from a local store for a replacement board for my Hayward salt system, I found this replacement system on InyoPools. Considering the entire system, from the entire control box to the salt cell, was just a little more than replacing the two boards in my Hayward, this was a no-brainer. The salt cell replacement itself was a simple swap--remove the two plastic nuts holding it in place and swap the new one in. I cut the breaker to the pump timer and then removed the old control unit from the wall where it was mounted. The new control unit itself was a little tougher to install, but only because my old control unit had two screws holding it in place on the wall and I would have had to get a masonry bit to mount the new one more securely--as it is, it's only held in place by the single screw at the top. (But it's nevertheless pretty secure.) I also needed to make use of the existing electrical conduit from my pump timer, so I had to work the new power cord through it. Once that was done, the electrical connection inside the pump timer was a piece. I turned the breaker back on and fired it up. Everything worked out of the box. I can't imagine that installing one of these as a new install (rather than replacement) would be much tougher. You'd need a saw to cut your PVC and some appropriate PVC glue, a masonry bit and masonry screws (if mounting to brick), and knowledge of where to connect the hot, ground, and neutral for the control unit to your pump timer (probably the trickiest part). But this was worth every penny and then some.
