Will this fit the Hayward Astrolite with the Thermoplastic rim. If so does it replace the existing lens or fit over it?

Yes this lens cover works with the Hayward Astrolite. It is designed to clip directly onto the lens of the light.

No, these covers should pop/clip into place.

    I had to unscrew partly to get the lens to secure to my light then tighten the screws again. Is this a problem
