What's the difference between the CX900RE and the CX1200RE?

The difference between the 2 cartridges are the size of the cartridges and the square footage of the cartridges with the CX1200RE being the larger of the 2.

Can I use the CX1100RE as a replacement for the CX1200RE?

I wouldn't recommend using the CX110RE in place of the CX1200RE. The CX1100RE has a smaller square footage and will affect filtration efficiency.

why is your Hayward C- 1200 oem Cartridge better to use then other brands

The CX1200RE cartridge is the original Hayward cartridge (O.E.M), the perception is that the O.E.M cartridges are better than the generics. I would actually suggest the generic as the quality these days on the generic's are every bit as good as the O.E.M but at a fraction of the price. I have a hayward filter system. On the side it lists c900re, cx1200re and cx1750re. However it lists 30 inches in height and for cx1200re, I have only found cx1200re at 23 3/4 inches. Help

Hi William, One of the model #'s on the side of the filter should be checked off and then you would go with the corresponding filter. A few other ways to determine the correct replacement cartridge.... 1. Remove the cartridge from the filter and there should be a part # embossed into the plastic end of the cartridge, type that part # into our search box for the correct replacement 2. Remove your cartridge and measure the length of the cartridge the C900RE is 17-3/8" in length, the C1200RE is in 23-3/8" in length and the C1750RE is 28-3/16" in length.

What is the difference between a Hayward C1200E and C1200 oem? I have a C1200E cartridge. A couple of years ago I bought one of the generic replacements for a spare, but the generic does not do the job as well as the C1200E, and I need to buy another one.

There are no differences in these models. Those are just alternate part numbers for the same model filter. There are a number of manufacturers that fabricate those filters though, so maybe you had a generic version at one point.

I need to replace my C 900 pool filter system. May I use a 120 instead efficiently

You would not be able to use the C1200 cartridge in the C900 filter canister. If you want to upgrade the entire filter, you could go with model W3C12002.
