What happens to this when the pump is turned off? I only run my pump for 4-6 hours.

Hi. You will have to remove it from the pool and store it when it's not in use. You do not want to leave it in your pool all the time.

Arrived on time. No directions, but they have pictures how to assemble. It dose not always work and it has never climbed up any of the wall or steps on my inground pool.

Brand new it worked perfect, though after that be ready to order replacement parts more or less every 6 months.
