PERMASEAL is a one-component nitrile rubber caulking compound that seals cracks while remaining permanently flexible. PERMASEAL is a fantastic product in many ways. It is similar in curing time, working properties, and permanent flexibility to the silicone rubber bathtub sealants. It is also compatible with all types of pool paints and dries overnight.
This product is the easiest of all permanent rubber joint fillers to install, as it may be installed by a novice. PERMASEAL comes in cartridges which fit a skeleton type caulking gun. It converts to nitrile rubber in 18 to 24 hours. Apply to clean pool and deck joints without a primer.
PERMASEAL should be used only for a small crack up to _ inch in width. Some shrinkage will occur as it dries.
PERMASEAL has excellent adhesion to aluminum, vinyl, glass, wood, concrete and most clean materials. Temperature range - 30 F to 175 F. In addition to swimming pool expansion joints, PERMASEAL can be used as a bedding compound, flashing seal, window seal, or bathtub caulk.

(4 out of 5 stars) Best caulk for hot tubs and pools
Reviewed By: Don H. from West Yellowstone, MT ()
This was recommended to me by pool experts and we use it in our pools and hot tubs where stainless steel sides meet the concrete bottoms. Silicone just doesn't hold up under water with chlorine. This stuff is made for pools. Just don't store it in warm areas or it turns into a block of rubber and can't be used. Don'r buy more than you can use for a project. One tube covered both a pool and a hot tub.

(4 out of 5 stars) Good seal, thick stuff.
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
It seals well, but requires a bone dry surface. This stuff is thick, and you will need a good quality caulking gun. This broke a $3 cheapo skeleton gun. It also took twice as long to cure, but it did set relatively fast. Don't touch it or smooth it after you gun it. Just let it set up and cure. It will "deflate" like Tom Brady's balls, and cure flush with the surface. It is paintable, but I'm not sure how long the paint will stay on, seeing as this remains a little flexible.
