Failed by pass spring

Turn off unit power at both panels. By pass spring broke not allowing the water to cycle and the heater overheated. Replaced complete by pass assembly but this link had also failed, probably due to heater over-heating via by pass spring malfunction. Ordered this link and replaced. Not a difficult replacement but most time spent was looking for this part which is in back of the unit near the exhaust.
