What type of tool is needed to screw the old threaded plug out & the new one in?

Hi Eubie, You can use a pair of needle nose pliers inserted into the holes or grooves in order to provide you better leverage while removing the threaded plug.

To remove connector, turn motor housing right side up, remove three wires from three pins (R,B,W). Now take a hammer and punch and tap the pins. The Retrofit For Cable Conn.-3 Pin (9991279) will come out easily.
