Does the foot pad on the g-3 model wear down enough to prevent it from traveling faster?

Aj, yes, the footpad is considered a ware part. Over time this part will ware and create more friction against the surface ultimately causing the efficiency of the cleaner to diminish.

This was simple to repair and replace. I simply removed the old footpad by prying/peeling it off the bottom of the Barracuda with my hands. Then I pulled on the new one. It took less than 5 minutes. Take note of the direction and placement of the original so you can get the correct orientation. Once I changed the Footpad, my Barracuda was working again.

about 1/2 the cost of a locally purchased product. Buy this in Leslie's and its $99. I call leslie's the $99 store.

The Footpad solved my problem. My Barracuda stopped working after 9 years of faithful service. I replaced the Diaphragm and it still didn't work. So I replaced the Footpad and it works like a charm.

We have had the Baracuda G3 for 8 years from when the pool was built and this is the first time that we have had to replace the footpad. An excellent product that does all it is touted to do.
