This is a replacement skimmer for the Hayward SP1089 Pool Skimmer for Above Ground Pools
My SPX1082k4 weir became stuck fast, wouldn't move, perhaps the sides of the skimmer bowed in a little. I'm wondering if I can replace with the SPX1089k, but for that to work the round holder at the bottom would have to be spring-loaded or otherwise adjustable. Are they?

Hi, Andrew. The best way to determine if the skimmer housing is bowed or warped is to measure it. This SPX1089K might not work because of the physical size.

thanks for your reply. my spx 1082 (original weir) almost fits, but as I said no gets stuck. My specific question about the spx 1089, which being 1/4" less wide might fit, is this: are the pins which attach to the skimmer walls retractable (adjustable)? or fixed? If they are retractable to the width of the weir itself, then I'll take a chance and buy one. af

Of course, I can measure, but fact is my current spx1082 gets stuck. May question about the spx1089k, which at 7 7/16 in. would definitely fit, is whether the pins at bottom are spring loaded or otherwise adjustable, so they would hold the weir in place even if the length of the weir itself is a bit short. Another way to answer: what is the length of the pins that hold the weir in place, and are they fixed or adjustable?

I have a Hayward skimmer. The covers states SP1070, the door says SP1071KA, looking for a replacement flapper. My current one has retractable pins

My original skimmer door has a flat face and measures 7.6250" x 5.25", the only part I see that is a match would be 4043-03 but the face is different. Is there another style offered in this size?
