my hayward pool heater model H400ED2 comes on and within 3-5 seconds turns off. this goes on and on?

There are several switches/sensors inside of the heater that can cause this. I would recommend contacting a licensed professional to correctly test and diagnose the issue.

First
I shut off the power, then make sure is not power in the light for security reason.
Second
Take the light fixture out of the water .
Then , take apart the nut and replace the bulb.
Last make sure tu put back a everything and put a new rubber gasket.
