I am replacing a pump motor and seal on a Sta-rite pump labeled P2RA5E-1241......The 1241 suffix isa little fuzzy with only 24 being clear. What seal should I order?

Jerry,A prefix of P2RA will cross reference to the Dura-glas pump. The mfg made changes to the pump around 1998, so there are two different seals depending if you purchased your pump before 1998 or after 1998. You can view both on the parts breakdown.

My pump calls for the Seal part #37400-0028 instead of the seal #37400-0028S. What is the difference between the part number with the "S" or without? Thanks

They are the same part. There is no difference.

My pool pump was leaking from the shaft seal so the pump was losing prime.

shut the power to the pump and disassembled the pump according to the on-line video. This is the second time I have had to replace the shaft seal. The first time I replaced the seal I used an aftermarket product.. I strongly recommend using OEM shaft seals.
