Hello Guillermo - The tie rod is right handed thread. You would turn in counter clockwise to remove from the filter base.

Hi, You will need to reinstall the rod and use a little epoxy to keep the rod in the base of the unit.

  what type of epoxy should be used? I have tried JB weld but that didn't hold.

The rod sizes are not listed thru the mfg. This rod is specific to the Hayward C1500 & C1750 model filters. The different models do have different lengths. Can you provide the model info for your application? If you have a label that is unreadable send info on the size of your filter cartridge & we will try to confirm the correct tie rod for the application.

Hi Gloria, this is the correct tie rod for the Hayward model C1750 cartridge filter. There are alternate part numbers for many parts in the swimming pool industry.
