Hi.
I recently changed my waterfall motor on a pentair AFP-120 to a 1HP motor.
Since then when I run the pump, it overheats and shuts down.
Do I have to change the impeller to a 35-5544 (which is for a AFP-75)?

Hi, Ali. You're not using the correct motor that's why. The AFP-75 impeller is not compatible with a 1hp motor. Installing the correct motor is the only way to resolve this issue.
