I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's  >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.

We have a Hayward Super Pump 2600 Series for our pool (installed in 1998). Need a new run capacitor for it. Not sure which one to get since the label on the one we have is old and hard to read. We know it is 370V. It is 1 3/4" diameter / 2 7/8" length. Can you recommend which capacitor we would need?

Hi Richard, unfortunately we do not a 370V capacitor that is 2-7/8" in length. Here is a listing of all the Run Capacitors we carry.

I purchased a Model B849 Pump Motor from you last May, probably 5/13/14. I installed it on 5/16/14. It now needs a capacitor. Is the covered by a warranty? Whether it is or not I need one asap. The only one I can get locally has the correct specifications but is physically too big to fit in the capacitor cover on the motor.

Skip, 5vr0303 is the run capacitor we show for a B849 pump. Not sure why it doesn't fit. And unfortunately we do not sell  370v 30mfd run capacitors smaller than 3 3/8" in length.

Hello, I have an A.O. Smith centurion pump motor model B855. It fails to start unless I manually spin the shaft and then it runs fine. Do I need to replace the capacitor mounted on the top of the motor to fix this start up problem?

Hi, The B855 motor does not have a start capacitor, the Run Capacitor 30MFD 370V (5VR0303) would be the correct capacitor.

The pump stopped working and I could hear it hum/buzz when it should be ON and pumping.

I shut the power off to the pump, removed the pumps back plate and did a visual inspection of the connections and capacitor, the capacitor was blown so I replaced it.

My Capacitor was burned out and I could not find one in Las Vegas. The size was an unpopular size and I could only get it on Inyopools.com.

I watch a video on YouTube and they showed me exactly how to install it.
Took 2 screws off the housing cover, then with a pair of needle nose pliers pulled the wires off.
Next I connected the wires to the capacitor then I placed the cover on with the screws.
Very easy thanks to the YouTube video.

My Dog ripped the old capacitor off the motor

Written on 4/26/2021 by Guest

Since the old capacitor was gone, I just had to plug the new one in, and replace the cover. Remember though, you always need to make sure the capacitor is insulated against the metal frame. I used foam pipe insulation to place the capacitor in and braided foam insulation on the frame itself. The braided insulation has adhesive backing so it sticks to the metal, and also helps seal the capacitor cover from moisture. Also, always discharge an existing capacitor before handling. If you aren't experienced with electrical wiring, I'd suggest hiring a licensed electrician. I have the benefit of growing up with a grandpa that was a master electrician :). I picked moderate skill level because it does take some degree of electrical know how. Thanks for reading!
