The Waterway Carefree Sand Filter Systems are designed with the ideal combination of energy efficiency and excellent water clarity. The Carefree Sand Filter and Pump Pack System provides everything needed for an above ground pool package.

Hi Stephen, It does not come as pictured, minor assembly would be required. You can find installation instructions in the Waterway Carefree Sand Filter System Owners Manual.

I am writing with my concerns to the Waterway Clear Bay Pump. I have had it replaced twice . The third time I purchased a Jacuzzi JPA. Now I am ha bing an issue hooking up the sand filter to the pump because the opening to where the hose connects on to the new pump is 2 inches. it is the same size as the sand filter connection. I have gone everywhere to try and find a hose or an adapter.

Hi, Laura. You will need the Butress/MPT Adapter - 417-4161B in order to use another pump with the Waterway union hose.

This filter Model Waterway Carefree16 inch requires 100 lbs. of sand.

Pros: Pump motor is extremely quiet and well balanced.

Cons: Set up instructions could be improved.

This is part of my first above ground pool installation, so I do not have prior experience with other pumps/filters and or maintaining pools. The kit is of high quality and operates extremely well, but the set up instructions were so brief that I was forced to figure out some of the assembly on my own. I can't think of anything I would change otherwise. The lever works well, and the pump motor even has it's own switch. I was originally going to get a Hayward, but this was on sale and ended up being a really good buy.
