Pentair Dynamo Above Ground Pool Pump
Dynamo® pumps are an example of excellence in hydraulic engineering for that elusive combination of high efficiency and longevity. The key is a proprietary internal design evolved and refined over the past 40 years. The result is the ability to minimize friction and turbulence as water moves through the pump. Other pumps simply work harder, consume more energy and make more noise. By contrast, Dynamo pumps are so efficient they typically require lower horsepower motors to deliver required flow—this slashes energy costs. Superior efficiency also translates directly into quieter operation. Put a Dynamo to work on your pool for maximum performance and value over the long term.
Features include:
You can depend on Dynamo® aboveground pumps year after year because they are designed to perform and built to last. These pumps feature durable components of fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic to resist corrosion and fatigue for extended service life.

I have a 1 HP full rated Magnetek Century E-Plus B841 pump that is grinding loudly. Thinking the motor is bad and seeing as I'm replacing it I may as well go with a 2-speed model. Is this pump a direct replacement for that one?
Reply
Hi, John. You can replace the B841 with a dual speed motor. You can use either the 2-Green Motor (B2982T) which has a built-in controller or the B982 motor without a controller. You will need to purchase the T106R Timer to control the B982 motor.

Any reason this can't be used for inground as it is self-priming and contains a diffuser? Some other sites claim so. I am replacing a hayward c48k2n143b1, 1 HP and looking for efficient 2 speed. Piping is 1.5" and my outlet is 125v. My pool is a simple, in-ground, rectangular 32X18, 16,500 gallons, 4.5 ft at deepest section. Pump and filter about 7 feet of pool, 1 foot off ground on slab. One skimmer line and no heater etc. Sand filter is Sta-Rite S7S50. Am I missing something?

It should work since your resistance is so minimal.

Hello,
I see no indication of an on-off/speed change switch in the description, and the picture does not show the rear of the motor.
So, my question is is there an on-off/speed change switch on the motor? If not, how does one do these things?
Thanks.

There is a toggle switch located on the back end of the motor for choosing the speeds.

I saw you answered a previous question regarding a speed switch (a toggle between low and high). Is there also an On/Off switch at the motor, or does the speed switch have a "Center Off" position (i.e. High/Off/Low)? Thanks
Reply
Paul, The switch is a 3 position switch (Hi/Low/Off).

Pros: Entire experience

Our 10 year old Pentair Dynamo pump failed this year, and we needed a replacement fast. We couldn't find the exact same pump available locally, so we searched online and came across INYOPools. The product and price were right, so we opted to give them a try. We asked for 3 day delivery, received it in 2, had the old pump uninstalled and the new installed in less than 2 hours, and so far so good. The individual on the phone was polite and eager to help, and the overall experience was excellent. Thank you INYOPools.
