The Dummy cell is basically a cell with no internal parts, this cell is used during cleaning of the real cell. So when you remove the real cell for cleaning you would put the dummy cell in place of the real cell. After you have finished cleaning the real cell you would remove the dummy cell from the plumbing and place the real cell back in place.
