Yes, the valve can be mounted vertically. The flow of the water must be moving up. The flow of the water cannot be moving down.

My check valve is P/N 7236 REV . Pool is 6 1/2 years old. Is 7235 the same as my part? Also can I just replace the flapper and cover without removing entire black pvc fitting? My spa water is draining back into pool whenever pump is not on. I'm assuming it's one of my 2 check valves.

Heater heat exchangers leaking

Written on 6/13/2017 by Guest

When I bought this house the pool was already here. The original heater was junk so I replaced it with a 175,000 but Raypak. It lasted maybe seven years and then the heat exchanger leaked. Next heater was a Raypak 206,000 btu and it didn't even last four years!! I finally discovered the issue. The original owners didn't have a one-way check valve installed between the heater output and the inline clorinator. I read that these Jandy valves are heavy-duty so I bought one. In five minutes I installed it. Cut the piper and glue it in. Make sure the arrow goes with the flow of water throughout the clorinator. Done. The heater should now last forever!!
