I am replacing a control box that had a temperature switch,that turned on filter/pump when the temperature went below 35 degrees. Will this device do the same?

Hi Ron - This particular timer does not have the thermostat which would turn your pump on once the temperature drops below 35 degrees. However we do carry this Intermatic Pool Timer with Thermostat which has this feature.

Will this timer work with a two speed pump?

The T21004R would not be the correct control panel for a 2-speed pump. We would recommend the Intermatic PE25300 for 2-speed pumps.
