Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size. Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size. DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.

What size pump is needed for this filter?

The filter is not intended to accommodate more than 50 Gallons Of Water per minute. A 1/2hp Hayward PowerFlo II Single Speed Pump would just be a little higher, but is the lowest I can find.

This spa filter (Hayward 500)was ordered to replace an older one that developed a leak. It was shipped on schedule it was easy to track the shipment from Fl to MN in three days and delivered to my home. Very satisfied with with INYO information and customer service.
