Hello Bruce, That motor will not work. The reason is the motor for a Hayward Max-Flo 2 is a square flange and the motor you had selected was a round flange. This is the correct part number is SPX2705Z1M .

Mr. Brown, Based off the specs of your current motor, the replacement motor for your pump is a UST1072. The manufacturer recommends replacing your shaft seal whenever you replace your motor. The shaft seal for the Super Pump is part # SPX1600Z2

We have this model motor on our in ground pool system and when we went to turn it on for the spring opening it will not start. It doesn't hum or make any noise like it wants to start . Can you give us any direction? We bought our house late in the summer last year and it was running fine then. after being shut down for the winter its not starting up now?

Hello Kimberlynn - It is not uncommon for a motor to seize up over the winter. It may need to be replaced. We have a troubleshooting manual. This may help diagnose the issue.

This is the second replacement from InyoPools. Excellent instructions and videos. 15 minutes to take apart, 10 minutes for parts swap and 45 minutes to install. The hardest part for me was connecting the wires due to equipment location. New pump works great!!!!! Change seals every 2 years and help yourself out. Great company, excellent customer service

Removed my Hayward Super pump motor and replaced it with A.O.Smith motor. Fit perfectly. Just wanted to add that I ordered this motor on a Sunday and it was delivered Wednesday night. And the price is right….

1. I noticed a leak coming from the inside of the motor at the bottom of the pump.
2. After shutting off the electrical feed to the motor, I was able to disconnect it and remove the wiring.
3. I removed the bolts that held the motor in place with the rest of the pump.
4. All of the seals were replaced between the motor and pump unit.
5. Once the new motor arrived I replaced the bearings and swapped it with the old motor.
6. Once the motor was re-attached with the 4 bolts, I hooked the electric back up
7. Turned power back on to the pump.
8. Switched the pump back on, ran like new. No leaks

This was my first time installing a pool pump motor. What I did was remove and replace the motor and change out the old seals. When installing new seals I used the included seal lub. After installing motor I checked it out and looked for leaks. I took my time and was finished in a couple of hours. I did need to change out some house to motor electrical connections to get a better electrical contact, but all together it was a easy job.

1. Shut power off to the pump and locked out.
2. Removed back flange plate on old motor and removed wiring and verified voltage connections for new motor.
3. Removed bolts holding motor to pump housing and backed motor out of the pump housing.
4. removed impeller and guard from old motor
5. Replaced all gaskets with new gaskets and lubed them where needed.
6. Put Impeller and guard on new motor and put back into pump housing and bolted back on
7. Installed power wire on new motor.

Motor runs great and was a direct replacement for the damaged motor I had. Installation was simple as well. Customer service is great with INYOPools. Pump is used to run a filter on a 15,000 gallon in ground chlorine pool.

Works great! Sealing from moisture could be better. I tossed one that I thought was locked up. Turned out it corroded the shaft to the housing at the rear of the motor. A wrench and some lubricant feed it up and saved me a new one.

Pump motor was delivered way faster than what I thought. Two days after the order was made the motor was at my door. 40 minutes the motor was installed and my pump was running again. Only time will tell (last OEM pump motor lasted 7 years in the elements), BUT this version looks better built (very impressed), was 100% compatible with my pump, and in fact looks better in black than gold ;)

I opened my pool this year to find my pump motor was seized. I searched every pool place within 45 miles of my house and no one had a motor. They all tried selling me a new pump. Can't beat this motor for the money anywhere online. I bought this and received it in three days from purchase, well packaged and without any problems. This motor is the original OEM made by A.O. Smith manufacturer. Installing was a breeze, it was my first time doing something like this and I got it working in no time. The old pump motor this one replaced was about five years old, and had taken punishment from all weather conditions here in Miami. These are very durable and well built. I would give a hundred stars if I could.

Perfect drop-in replacement. Much quieter and smoother. Make sure you keep the power cable and strain relief from the motor you're replacing - they're not included.
