Premium-Efficiency 2-Speed Pool Motor with Integrated Timer
A. O. Smith’s new 2Green two-speed premium efficiency replacement pump motor with integrated timer packs tremendous value into an easy to- nstall package. Energy efficiency continues to drive the needs of the pool market, from legislation to increased awareness of energy costs and environmental impact. And thanks to the 2Green’s energy efficient high and low speed windings paired with an onboard timer interface, energy consumption can be reduced by as much as 58% over single speed motors. The all-in-one integrated motor and timer means less work for an installer and maximum energy savings for pool and spa owners. A. O. Smith’s 2Green is Title 20 compliant** and best of all, there is no additional wiring required for new construction or retrofit installations!
*California’s Title 20 legislation states that pumps > 1HP (total) must be 2-speed or variable speed, and must have a control to default to low-speed (i.e. timer)
Features | Benefits |

Rain-proof timer enclosure | Other aftermarket timers require a secondary enclosure for outdoor use of the electronics |
On-screen motor status updates | Unique feature that provides user feedback (if the shaft is locked for instance) which can reduce motor failures; shows the mode (high, low, off) and time remaining |
Built-in battery backup protects programming for 7 full years |
No need to replace battery (unlike other timers) or reset time/settings during a power outage or off-season |
Integrated LCD backlight and adjustable contrast |
Ensures the display can easily be viewed in dark, shady, or direct sunlight conditions |
Intuitive step-by-step screen instructions | Step-by-step instructions make initial setup and any future programming changes simple |
Manual override | User can instantly change motor parameters for cleaning or maintenance without adjusting permanent settings |

Joe - The warranty is one year. If the motor fails within the first year because of manufacturer defects, we will replace the motor. You can take the motor to an electrical repair shop if it is outside of one year. The time it takes to recoup the money depends on your kwh cost. This guide will help you calculate the cost to run the motor.

I have a Hayward super pump 1.5 HP single speed. Would like to replace the motor only, no timer, with the same super pump, but with a 2 speed. Will this fit my current pump housing? Any special wiring modification? Special 220 power cord? I have separate 110 & 220 outlets by my pump. Current pump is plugged to 220. Thanks.

Hi Del, I would suggest the 1 HP Full Rate Dual Speed Motor W/ Digital Timer the reason I suggest the 1 HP and not the 1-1/2 HP is because... the Hayward Super Pump uses a 1-1/2 HP uprated motor which would be identical to a 1 HP full rate motor. The dual speed motor referenced above will fit your current housing and you should be able to use your current 220V plug. When replacing your motor I would suggest a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit. This motor would not need a special timer as it has has a built in digital timer right on the motor.

Hello, I have the common 1 HP Hayward Super Pump, which has been making a high pitch noise for the past few years. This year it was seized up and I had to take it apart. Inside the pump housing a found a colony of ants (and uncles) that had to be evicted. I unfroze the shaft with a state-of-the-art water pump pliers, and it is working, but its still noisy.
I wish to upgrade to a more efficient pump. Will this pump fit my current setup?
Thank you.

Hi Marcos yes this dual speed motor would be a great energy-efficient upgrade to your current motor. I would also suggest a Hayward Tune Up Kit when you do this motor replacement.

Is this motor for an inground pool & can it be hardwired? If not, do you have a similar one available for an inground pool. Thank you.

Pros: Convenience, Quiet
Cons: None
Can't believe I waited fro the Hayward motor that my installer included to fail before upgrading to this integrated timer, dual-speed unit. No more walking outside in the early morning or late hours to turn things on/off, no worries over vacations/long weekends. As a "bonus", this motor is quieter than the original ever was, and- based on my pressure gauge- seems to be slightly stronger despite the equivalent electrical power rating.

(5 out of 5 stars) 1 HP 2-speed pump motor with timer
Reviewed By: mr_jeep7 from Grand Rapids, MI ()
Pros: Seems very well constructed, high quality, quiet
I installed this motor just over 2 months ago to replace my Hayward 1 HP single speed pump that was getting very hot and loud. I also ordered the gasket kit. This works perfectly and is very quiet. It was a direct replacement and bolted up easily. My existing impeller screwed right on etc. I run it for 12 hours on high and 12 on low speed and my pool is staying clean. It is easy to switch speeds and timers on the built-in keypad and I didn't have to change any wiring or add a 2 speed switch. It has to be on high to run the heater of course. I saved 50$ the first month on my electric bill over running the single speed pump 24/7.

Pros: Quiet,
Cons: May not be exact fit with your pump
I ordered this motor to replace Haywar Super Pump motor. It is very quiet and seems to work well. To early to tell if any savings on electric bill. Small issue with install. checkd with advisor and was told this replacement would fit. Bolt pattern was fine but motor housing is larger diameter than original. As a result motor would not line up properly resting on cradle built into existing pump assembly. I had to shave down cradle so bolt plate would sit flush against pump. Other than that no prblems with install. Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to field engineer pump frame for proper fit.

(5 out of 5 stars) 2 speed pump motor w/electronic timer
Reviewed By: Stan W. from Hamilton, OH ()
Pros: Easy installation, nice timer and readout panel.
My single speed motor needed to be replaced, and I wanted to use a 2 speed motor and a timer to save energy. After some research I ended up with this unit. It is a very good quiet motor and works as it should. The timer is very handy and easy to use. Using this model with the timer on the motor made the wiring very easy. I thought about rating it a 4 because I bought the B975T and should have made sure it was the B2975T, as I believe it is slightly more efficient, but that was not the motor's fault. INYO Pools was very helpful, delivery was quick, no problems.

Quiet. Easy install. Timer easy to set. Bought it as replacement pump in my Jacuzzi Magnum Force. Perfect fit. Used ps201 seal. Price out a pump and and timer switch--this is a much better deal and uses much less room.
