Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size. Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size. DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.

how much are the replacement filters

There are two options when looking for replacement cartridges for the Hayward Star Clear 25sqft. Filter, you can get the OEM (manufacturer's replacement) CX250RE or the generic replacement cartridge NFC1230.

Would you please tell me the hayward code or article number for the o-ring (the rubber ring) that is placed under the lid in the hayward C250 filter?

Hi Dave, The flow rate of your pump would determine the size filter. FYI, the bigger the filter the better.

Removing the cartridge is quite ease. There is a star shaped knob on the top of the filter that you would need to unscrew and remove the lid. This will grant you access to the cartridge inside the filter.

What HP is the C250 Filter? Will it vacuum a pool? Does the filter have a leaf trap?

Hi. This Hayward Star Clear Filter - C250 flow rating is 25 GPM max. It has the capacity to vacuum a small pool but, debris capacity is 25 sqft. It does not have a separate leaf trap but will filter leaves.

I have a 2500 gallon swim spa pool with a 3/4 hp pump situated about 45 feet from the pool. Would this filter be adequate?

The safer bet would be the Hayward Star Clear Cartridge Filter 50 Sq Ft. 1 1/2 Inch Ports - C500. Besides the flow rate, the larger the filter, the longer you can go between cleanings. If you go with the C250, that is potentially twice the cleanings per season.
